Celta Vigo beat Valencia 3-1 in beautiful fashion to mark their 101'st anniversary. A goal and assist from living legend Iago Aspas gave Baraja's men a second consecutive defeat of the season and move to 1st on the Laliga table.
Celta Vigo started the game in high spirits but a goal from Diego Lopez gave Valencia the lead in the 14th minute. 9 minutes later Mingueza volleys in a cross from Aspas to level the game for Giraldez' men. Celta didn't hold back and Aspas scored Celta's second 5 minutes later scoring from a through pass from mingueza.
The 1st half saw Aspas miss a penalty after an handball from Hugo Duro in additional time. A timid penalty from Aspas was saved by Mamardashvili as Celta headed into the dressing room ahead.
The second half started just like the first ended with Celta in control. Willow Swedberg saw a beautiful shot from the edge of the box saved by Mamardashvili. In the 60th minute Fran Beltran sent a better into the top corner after a needless corner was conceded by Jesus Vazquez and Celta closed the win.
The game saw a debut for Luis Rioja as he played his second consecutive game at balaidos this season. He replaced Javi Guerra in the 60th minute but he wasn't able to turn the game around for Valencia. Rafa Mir saw his header hit the post late in the game but Valencia weren't able to create enough chances to get back in the game.
Celta continue their dream start to the season and are now top of the log meanwhile Baraja's Valencia suffer the second defeat of the season and will hope to change their fortunes when they face Athletic Club at San Mames on wednesday.
