Schalke coming off a impressive win against league leaders Paderborn last week, are at home for the final match in the VELTINS-Arena of 2024.
As Schalke welcomes another top of the table team Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The match starts off were Schalke left off last week, as Schalke came out on the front foot.
In the 2nd minute Schalke striker and top goal scorer, Moussa Sylla already gets his first chance with a long range effort

At the 18th minute Schalke again with a massive chance as Antwi-Adjei tries to chip the keeper from his right side he knocks the ball forward to Aydin who has a empty net to shoot at and hits the ball at net and with Kastenmeier on the ground makes a save while in a sitting position.
The battle continues and at the 33rd minute Sylla gets a shot off the Aydin cross and again Kastenmeier makes the save.
In the 44th minute it is Sylla again and this time Murkin chips the ball into the six yard area and Sylla heads the ball and Kastenmeier makes the save.

Schalke start the half coming off eight shots at Kastenmeier in the first half.
The attack at Düsseldorf goal continues and at the 58th mark Bulut gets a chance at goal and Kastenmeier punches the ball away.
With all their attack at goal Schalke's lack of finish could hurt them and it comes at the 62nd minute and out of almost nothing Düsseldorf open the scoring as Oberdorf plays a long ball and after a Murkin attempt to clear Dawid Kownacki breaks free and shots at the net and even with Heekeren gets a small piece of the ball it still goes into the back of the net.

Finally at the 72nd minute, Sylla will final better Kastenmeier, as Antwi-Adjei down the left side and crosses into the box and Sylla final beats Kastenmeier with a header goal.

Schalke are still looking for a go ahead goal and at the 80th Sylla again from the edge of the box tries a chip shot with two defenders on him and the ball just strikes the underside of the crossbar and then the left post and Kastenmeier finds the ball and clears it.
Sylla's day will end at the 83rd minute, but after a incredible battle with Kastenmeier.
Sylla leaves the match with 7 attempts at Kastenmeier and gets the one goal.
The Nordkurve and everyone felt Schalke might have gone ahead at the 88th minute as Ron Schallenberg heads a corner ball towards the near post and incredibly Kastenmeier is there again to make the save, as Schallenberg punches the ground after that save in disbelief on that save.
