How many have a future with The Blues?
It's no secret that Chelsea have been spending this summer and they have the firepower to back it up, the question is: how many of these signings could be successful? Here I will run through every single player they have brought in this summer and rate them out of 10.
Marc Guiu
Age: 18
Position: Striker
Height: 6'2
Former Club: Barcelona
Nationality: Spain
Transfer Fee: €6m
Marc Guiu arrives at Chelsea after coming through La Masia as one of the most exciting striker prospects in Europe but hasn't got off to a flying start despite scoring in pre-season. The 18 year-old has shown great pressing intent but has yet to find that finishing touch he needs to succeed. Guiu looked solid when he got his chance at Barcelona, but perhaps staying as part of Chelsea's first team would be the wrong decision. I believe he could have benefitted from a loan spell to a team like sister club RC Strasbourg to get consistent minutes as he does not provide healthy competition for Nicolas Jackson. However for the small fee of €6m Chelsea have got a low risk, high reward player. Worst case scenario he leaves in a year or two and fetches around €20m.
Rating: 6/10
Caleb Wiley
Age: 19
Position: Left Back
Height: 5'11
Former Club: Atlanta
Nationality: America
Transfer Fee: €10m
Caleb Wiley is an exciting prospect at left back, which is a position that Chelsea needed to have a look at in the summer. With Ben Chilwell looking past his best and being out of Chelsea's plans, their only left back option appeared to be Marc Cucurella who has just come off the back of an outstanding European Championship campaign with Spain. However, Wiley has been loaned out to sister club Strasbourg and has been playing well, notching an assist in his most recent game. He is best deployed as a wing-back but can play as a traditional fullback too, being solid defensively. A good talent for sure.
Rating: 6/10
Renato Veiga
Age: 20
Position: Left Back, Centre Back, Defensive Midfield
Height: 6'3
Former Club: FC Basel
Nationality: Portugal
Transfer €14m
Renato Veiga already looks to be one of the better signings that Boehly and Co have made during their 2 year tenure, a tall, dominant, strong defensive figure that plays for the badge and can play in multiple positions. Veiga has primarily been used in Maresca's preferred LCB/LB hybrid role however we have also seen him inverting on both the right side and the left. Veiga boasts a huge, physical stature but has impressive technical ability for someone so tall. Definitely a player i can see getting regular minutes in the first time. Only 20 years of age but plays with maturity you would expect from somebody much older.
Rating: 7/10
Aaron Anselmino
Age: 19
Position: Centre Back
Height: 6'2
Former Club: Boca Juniors
Nationality: Argentina
Transfer Fee: €16.5m
Aaron Anselmino is tipped to be one of the biggest defensive talents in the world and for such a low price tag, Chelsea have nothing to lose here. The defender has gone straight back to Boca Juniors on loan and is set to join The Blues in July 2025. This lad has it all, his ball playing ability is unbelievable, he's fast and his defensive ability is out of this world. His anticipation, patience and maturity in defence is what makes him so good, he recently got 2 assists in one match from centre back. Scary, scary talent and thinking about that partnership with Levi Colwill next season should make rivals shudder.
Rating: 8/10
Mike Penders
Age: 19
Position: Goalkeeper
Height: 6'7
Former Club: Genk
Nationality: Belgium
Transfer Fee: €20m
Mike Penders has been hailed as the next Thibaut Courtois, and for good reason. Penders possesses top drawer shot stopping as well as being able to distribute the ball reasonably well too. His long balls are pinpoint and his reach is unmatched given the fact he stands at 6'7. Penders has, like Anselmino, been loaned straight back to the club that Chelsea have bought him from so he can develop a little more before he joins in July 2025. It is not hard to see that Chelsea are building an insanely strong team for the future and Penders is yet another example of their brilliant scouting.
Rating: 8/10
Filip Jorgensen
Age: 22
Position: Goalkeeper
Height: 6'3
Former Club: Villarreal
Nationality: Denmark
Transfer Fee: €24.5m
Filip Jorgensen has already got his chance in Chelsea's first team, playing in both legs of their Conference League qualifiers against Servette. Jorgensen produced a man of the match performance on his competitive debut for The Blues in their first leg against Servette but conceded two in the second. Despite this, he looks solid and is tipped to be playing primarily in Chelsea's cup games this season while Robert Sanchez plays in the league. Jorgensen's distribution is the key part of his game that made Enzo Maresca want to bring him to Stamford Bridge, and it is clear to see that in that regard he is far superior to Robert Sanchez. I think Jorgensen is a good signing as he is only 22 and could yet improve, he looks an upgrade on Sanchez at least.
Rating: 7/10
Tosin Adarabioyo
Age: 26
Position: Centre Back
Height: 6'5
Former Club: Fulham
Nationality: England
Transfer Free: Free Transfer
Tosin already looks to be a smart signing. Bringing in a centre back with Premier League experience was vital, and he fills the leadership hole left in Thiago Silva's wake. Being 6'5 and muscular, Tosin is able to bully attackers off the ball and is relatively quick too. His defensive ability is tidy and he is a mature figure in Chelsea's backline. He may only be a squad player but he was a much needed signing for such a young team and I could see him taking the armband at least a few times this season.
Rating: 6/10
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Age: 25
Position: Central Midfield
Height: 5'10
Former Club: Leicester City
Nationality: England
Transfer Fee: €35.4m
Honestly, KDH is one of my least favourite signings this window. I get that he has worked with Maresca before and fits the system but he is at best a squad player and for almost €36m I don't see the vision with this one. A good player for sure, he has an eye for a pass but I can't see him playing all too much this season. He has looked shakey in the matches he has played, to me he feels like a Conor Gallagher that can pass a bit better. I love him as a character but as a player less so. Only 25 so entering his prime, I hope he proves me wrong.
Rating: 4/10
Jadon Sancho
Age: 24
Position: Left Winger, Right Winger, Attacking Midfielder
Height: 5'11
Former Club: Manchester United
Nationality: England
Transfer Fee: Loan with Obligation
Jadon Sancho is a player that I have wanted at Chelsea ever since the 2019/20 season. An incredibly silky dribbler and an intelligent trickster, Sancho is one signing I simply cannot wait to see in action. His loan stint with Borussia Dortmund last season was promising but we all know how his Manchester United career went. With him being a vocal Chelsea fan, I believe that he will work hard for the club and we could have him back to his best. He looks set to make his debut against Bournemouth, so we will see.
Rating: 7/10
Joao Felix
Age: 24
Position: Second Striker, Attacking Midfielder, Left Winger, Striker
Height: 5'11
Former Club: Atletico Madrid
Nationality: Portugal
Transfer Fee: €52m
Joao Felix, Woah... Alright, so this is definitely one of my favourite signings. Ever since his Benfica days, I have been longing to see this man in Chelsea blue. It finally happened in 2023 and he looked to be one of the most exciting players we have had since Eden Hazard. Now he's back and better than ever! Scoring on his debut in our 6-2 thrashing of Wolves, I cheered loudest for his goal. Chelsea have now signed two of the top three in the 2019 Golden Boy rankings. Felix is quite simply one of the best and smartest dribblers I have watched play for Chelsea, and on his day he can finish his chances off too. Will no doubt thrive in Maresca's system and will only get better from here. Unbelievably happy with this signing.
Rating: 9/10
Pedro Neto
Age: 24
Position: Left Winger, Right Winger
Height: 5'8
Former Club: Wolves
Nationality: Portugal
Transfer Fee: €60m
Pedro Neto signing for Chelsea was one thing I never expected to happen. This guy has been playing at Premier League level for a few years and absolutely bullied us whenever we played Wolves. With a quick turn of pace, pinpoint crossing and fantastic dribbling, Neto is going to be a huge player for Chelsea this season. It is not difficult to see how this signing helps us, he really is a 'Maresca winger'. Already snatching the #7 from Chelsea flop Raheem Sterling, now of Arsenal, you can see that the club has real faith in this signing. €60m is a fair price too, a top winger.
Rating: 8/10
Estevao
Age: 17
Position: Right Winger, Attacking Midfielder
Height: 5'9
Former Club: Palmeiras
Nationality: Brazil
Transfer Fee: €40-60m
Estevao 'Messinho' Willian. The nickname speaks for itself. This kid is arguably the best talent on the planet right now and Chelsea were lucky enough to secure his signature for him to join in July 2025. Estevao is one of the fastest, smartest, silkiest dribblers I have seen in my life, and he is only 17. He has an eye for a shot and his finishing is impressive. His playmaking and linkup play is unbelievable, with him being able to take multiple opposition players out of the game with just one pass. He possesses Neymar levels of flair and skill whilst keeping them practical. Chelsea having Estevao and Kendry Paez in their squad in 2025 is absolutely insane. Both are incredible, incredible talents and are only going up from here. Incredible signing.
Rating: 10/10
If I had to give Chelsea an overall transfer window rating, I would give it a 7. I think rival fans and perhaps even our own fans are underestimating how good our window has been. Signing established players, leaders and some of the best young talents in the world, Chelsea will be a force to reckon with for seasons to come.
