Valencia Get First Point Of The Season

Valencia got their first point of the season against Villareal in a 1-1 draw at Mestalla this evening.


Baraja's men started the game on a high note and went ahead through a goal from Hugo Duro in the 24th minute. The first 30 minutes of the game saw Valencia in control and Los Che looked better than they had all season.


Villareal slowly got back into the game and with the last kick of the game Ayoze Pérez equalised for Marcelino's men with a deflected shot into the top corner with both teams level going into the dressing room.


Marcelino introduced Akhomach into the game for Dani Parejo and Villareal began taking charge of the game before Pape Gueye's reckless tackle saw him get a second yellow card and sent off.


Valencia took control of the game in search of a goal. Luis Rioja hit the woodwork, substitute Sergi Canós daw his shot saved by Diego Conde. Pepelu also had a long range shot saved by Conde. Valencia searched for a goal but counted find one.


Baraja's men remain bottom of the log with one point and Villareal drop to 3rd while maintaining their unbeaten status.
