MATCHDAY 9: SCHALKE vs. HANNOVER 96

We are back after the international break, Schalke have found their new head coach in Kees van Wonderen.

Now we will see what we can bring to the squad.

The traveling Schalke fans before the match displayed a nice tifo to show support for the team.

It does not take long for the home team to make a impact.

Hannover take the lead in the 4th minute, Hannover get a free kick early and Leopold delivers the free kick into the box and perfectly to the feet of Fabian Kunze in the box who simply and with no pressure and ease one touches the ball into the back of the net where even keeper Hoffmann is slow and unprepared to make the save.

HANNOVER 1 - SCHALKE 0

The rest of the first half sees Hannover just control the match Schalke have no answers and look the most lost and disorganized they have this season.

In the 12th minute Voglsammer almost gets the second goal but Hoffmann makes a sudden save, which is lucky on his part as he looks unsure of himself and has no communication between himself and the defense.

Hannover dominated the first half and come out of it with only one goal.

Schalke do not have any attack whats so ever.

HALF-TIME:

Second half sees more of the same, nothing from Schalke except a little more possession, but it all just fizzled out.

A great defensive play from Schalke in the 52' minute, defender Sanchez sees him slides in to clear a one- two attempt from the home team that for sure would have lead to a goal.

The second half is just a copy of the first, Schalke with no offense attack and it is all Hannover.

Another blow to Schalke as in the 77th minute Karaman gets his 5th yellow card of the season and will miss the next match against Fürth.

Finally in the 90th minute Schalke put their first attempt at goal with a long range effort from Lasme which Zieler makes the save.

That will be the match, Schalke lose again and do not show any attack against Hannover who now have five wins in five matches.

FULLTIME;

HANNOVER 1 - SCHALKE 0

Schalke's new coach fails to show why former coach Gareth was let go, the team looks worse now then before.

As Schalke drop in the table again now down to 14th spot, with Ulm still to play and one point behind them,

By the end of MD9 Schalke very much could drop to 15th.

Next up back home next Saturday to take on Fürth.
